Rhett & Link: Their Evolving Approach to Jesus

June 9, 2021

Last year Rhett & Link made their deconstruction and deconversion from Christianity public on their podcast, Ear Biscuits. I made a reaction video in response (linked below). In December, they discussed their current positions, how they relate to Christmas, and (I think) by extension, how they relate to life in general. Rhett & Link raise issues that I think are extremely helpful in evaluating Christianity.

You Won't Believe How These Atheists Answer This Christian's Question

June 7, 2021

NOTE: In case it’s not clear in the video, Shannon Q actually agrees with my point. We took issue with her explanation of what she thinks a person who makes such comparisons might say. We responded to that. She makes clear in the original video that she doesn’t use that approach, and sees merit in what we’re saying, but then provides what she imagines one might say to the challenge. We were responding to THAT. Johnathan, who had not seen the entire original video said she was wrong. There are certainly problems with the justification she imagines some atheists might make, but that doesn’t mean SHE is wrong. We apologize if, in any way her position was unclear, and encourage viewers to watch her response video linked in the description. Is Reality Explained Better by an Atheist or a Christian Worldview?

June 7, 2021

NOTE: THIS VIDEO CONTAINS ADULT LANGUAGE! A few weeks ago Braxton released a video in which he presented “10 Questions for Atheists.” Dozens responded with comments on the video, and a number of YouTubers eagerly presented their own responses in video form. In this video, Braxton interacts with the answers they gave.

Daniel Alvarez: No Evidence for God?

August 6, 2019

Almost ten years ago, I (Braxton) had my first live, public, moderated, debate. Daniel Alvarez was a credible opponent, full time professor at Florida International University, and a Harvard graduate. I had two days to prepare. I was terrified. This might as well be my origin story.

The Kalam Doesn't Mention God: A Response to Rationality Rules

August 6, 2019

The Kalam Cosmological Argument is consider by many to be one of the best arguments for God's existence. However, it's common for skeptics to point out that it doesn't mention God, and so it can't be an argument for God. Stephen Woodford's (Rationality Rules) video which claims to debunk the Kalam cosmological argument has been passed around in the atheist community quite a bit. Capturing Christianity's Cameron Bertuzzi responded, and Woodford wasted little time in firing back. In this video we'll take a look at Rationality Rules' dominant defense of his video, and answer the question: should apologists ditch the Kalam since it doesn't mention God?

Paulogia & The Masters of the Universe: A Response

Paulogia is a pretty popular atheist youtuber. He tackles some of the more prominent theistic arguments. In this episode, I respond to his criticism of the Kalam Cosmological Argument. We'll cover all the typical objections INCLUDING a discussion of the nature of time, and whether the "B-theory" undermines the Kalam argument.

Sam Harris is Confused

June 18, 2019

Sam Harris was once asked, "Is there a possibility of a Creator?" Instead of answering directly he meandered through a confused monologue about Islam and Christianity before spilling over into a confused musing about those who never hear the message of a particular religion. He managed to mix in a comment or two about the matrix, and the possibility that we're all in a virtual simulation.

S10E7: The Bible On Slavery (Part One)

March 20, 2019

Skeptics and Christians alike, understandably, have difficulty seeing how a God of love could advocate for slavery. Yet, the law of Moses, as translated in most english Bibles, does explain how Israelites were to buy, sell, and treat their . . . slaves. Is this proof that the God of the Bible is a moral monster? In this episode, we’ll cover the most objectionable statements in scripture, as they relate to slavery, and discuss the terminology, culture, and intentions of the biblical writers. In the first and last word segments, we’ll cover death-bed conversions, and intuition!
