A Christian Response to Mr. Atheist's 7 Bad Bible Verses

September 11, 2019

Mr. Atheist thinks these are verses Christians would rather skip. Some probably would, but in this episode, we walk through them and explain why context is key. Mr. Atheist seems unfamiliar with the ancient near-eastern contexts and languages that inform the proper translations and understandings of several passages on his list.

Can Time Do What God Can Do? (Responding to TMM and Whaddoyoumeme)

September 3, 2019

My friend Jon, over at Whaddoyoumeme, made a video a while back that provided a philosophical argument for God's existence. Simply put, The Messianic Manic replied, arguing that the nature of time served as a defeater to much of what Jon said. Are you ready to find out if he was right? Then LETTTTT'SSSS GGGOOOOOOOO!!!!

Is Atheism a Worldview: clips from Penn Jillette, Godless Cranium, Sam Harris, & Cosmic Skeptic

August 27, 2019

"Atheism is not a worldview!" At least, that's what a lot of atheists say. Are they right? We'll break it down in this episode, and expose a major mistake that has caused some people too illogically jump ships from Christianity to atheism.

Four Variations of Atheist Youtubers

August 27, 2019

I've made response videos to 24 atheists over the past few months. The stereotype doesn't always fit! Not all atheist youtube channels are the same, and the differences are important. I've categorized what I think are the four fundamental approaches that currently exist. Understanding these types will, I think, lead to better conversations.

Live Discussion with Michael Jones from Inspiring Philosophy on a new physics argument for God!

August 27, 2019

Michael Jones of Inspiring Philosophy joins us for a live interview on a new argument for God's existence. He calls it "The Digital Physics Argument," and it's as interesting and provocative an approach as any I've ever heard. Are you merely in God's version of the Matrix? We also discuss Michael's debate history, and which debates he's most pleased with. He explains his personal debate preparation strategy, and we wrap it all up with a discussion of Genesis!

What's Hell & Why Are Many Atheists Still Afraid? (with responses to Cosmic Skeptic & Tracie Harris)

August 27, 2019

For many atheists, the seemingly unfair nature of hell is too hard to swallow. On the other hand, a lot of them continue to fear the possibility of hell even years after rejecting Christianity. It just might be that much of this has to do with misunderstandings about the nature of God, and what Christians actually believe about the ultimate state of the unbeliever. In this episode, we'll take a look at what atheists are saying, and lay out the Christian positions on the issue.

A Christian Reacts to Krauss' Account of Meaning, Morality, & The Universe

August 27, 2019

Lawrence Krauss is well known for claiming that the universe could come into existence from nothing. What some might not realize is that he thinks meaning, morality, and even spirituality came with it! With a brief excursus on the thinking of Neil Degrasse Tyson, I respond to some of the famous scientist's most common claims.

Christopher Hitchens: A Christian Response to His Most Popular Statements

August 27, 2019

It is with great reverence that I respond to the late great anti-theist, Christopher Hitchens. There is much to commend about the man, even from a Christian perspective. Naturally, there is much that he said to which believers may object. In this video, I deconstruct his typical case against theism with an eye toward charity. I recognize that though he likely would not have responded to a youtube video, at least in life he could have. He cannot respond now, and I admit that this is a bit unfair. Nevertheless, I believe he would approve of the endeavor. It is out of respect for the man that I take his ideas seriously, and criticize them straightforwardly.

David Wood, Guillaume Bignon, & Greg Viehman Explain What Moved Them to Jesus

August 27, 2019

Does apologetics work, or is it usually a new love interest, friend, or some catastrophic life experience that brings people to faith in Christ? Perhaps it's a more complex question than that.

Daniel Alvarez: No Evidence for God?

August 6, 2019

Almost ten years ago, I (Braxton) had my first live, public, moderated, debate. Daniel Alvarez was a credible opponent, full time professor at Florida International University, and a Harvard graduate. I had two days to prepare. I was terrified. This might as well be my origin story.

The Kalam Doesn't Mention God: A Response to Rationality Rules

August 6, 2019

The Kalam Cosmological Argument is consider by many to be one of the best arguments for God's existence. However, it's common for skeptics to point out that it doesn't mention God, and so it can't be an argument for God. Stephen Woodford's (Rationality Rules) video which claims to debunk the Kalam cosmological argument has been passed around in the atheist community quite a bit. Capturing Christianity's Cameron Bertuzzi responded, and Woodford wasted little time in firing back. In this video we'll take a look at Rationality Rules' dominant defense of his video, and answer the question: should apologists ditch the Kalam since it doesn't mention God?
